Highlanders chairman, Kenneth Mhlophe is likely to be elected Premier Soccer League vice chairman following close of nominations Friday as he was the only candidate who reportedly submitted papers for the post.
FC Platinum boss, Dumisani Sisale, Simba Bhora chairman, Isaiah Mpfurutsa and Manica Diamonds’ Masimba Chihowa submitted their papers for the position of chairman.
Three committee members, Dynamos chairman, Moses Maunganidze, TelOne boss Oscar Nduwure, and Leonard Musariri of Ngezi Platinum submitted nomination forms.
If all submitted papers sail through, the PSL is only likely to see elections for the post of chairman with all nominees being confirmed.
In the Zimbabwe Women Soccer League, FC Platinum Queens’ chairperson, Chido Chizondo and Ntokoziso Moyo of Black Rhinos submitted nominations for the chairperson’s post while long time women football benefactor, Lewis Muzhara was the only candidate to submit papers for vice chairperson.
The election for the two bodies’ executives are scheduled for 25 July.
Efforts to get a comment from Zifa chief executive officer, Yvonne Manwa Mapika were fruitless as she did not respond to calls.
