ZIMBABWE’s squash ace Ryan Gwidzima picked up his first professional title in Europe when he won the men’s Cab Boom Ltd Bexley PSA Squash Tour final in England on Sunday.
Gwidzima beat England’s Anthony Rogal 3-2 (8-11, 11-9, 10-12, 11-8, 11-7) in a tightly contested final at the Bexley Lawn Tennis, Squash and Racketball Club to emerge winner.
The 19-year-old squash prodigy confirmed his first professional title on his social media pages.
Inside two weeks he has won two titles including the Kenya open.
“Bexley PSA satellite $1k winner. Feels great to win back to back PSA titles in the last two weeks . I fought a lot of things mentally and I am proud of myself for finding way to play a decent match in your not so best day . This is my first pro PSA title in Europe. Kenya open PSA satellite $1K Winner – Last week I claimed a good win to add another PSA title in the bag,” Gwidzima posted on his social media Facebook page.
Last month, Gwidzima fell in the second round of the men’s PSA Tour Smythe Toys Hinckley Challenger 2025.
He lost 2-3 to Poland’s 22-year-old Jakub Plytlowany after five sets, winning the first two 11-5, 11-6 and lost three 5-11, 6-11, 7-11.
In November last year, while at Falcon College, he clinched the Irish Junior Open.
