The Zimbabwe Football Association will soon engage stakeholders for input as they seek new strategies on the women’s game in the country.
Meetings are scheduled for next week starting in Harare on Tuesday (June 24) with the next Gweru the following day.
They will be in Bulawayo on Thursday and on Friday Masvingo.
Zifa said the upcoming Regional Stakeholder Consultation Process is aimed at shaping a national strategy for the growth and development of women’s football.
“These sessions aim to bring together all key stakeholders to contribute to the shaping of a national strategy that will guide the growth, development and professionalization of women’s football in Zimbabwe,” Zifa said.
The national football governing body added that a FIFA assigned Women Football Development Expert will lead the discourse.
Zifa said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to professionalise and mainstream women’s football at all levels, in alignment with Fifa’s global objectives and the broader development goals of Zimbabwean football.
They urged all stakeholders to participate and contribute meaningfully to the future of the women’s game.
The women’s game has grown over the years with more women taking part in the sport although success has been elusive for the national teams.
