ZIMBABWE is set to host the Cosafa under17 2025 tournament in September.
Zifa technical director, Jethro Hunidzarira said while the venue is yet to be confirmed they are getting ready to host the important juniors’ event.
Meanwhile, the Zifa Bulawayo Province is set to conduct trials for the under 17 national team this Sunday.
In a notice, Zifa Bulawayo Province board member competitions, notified clubs they will be holding under 17 trials for players born between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2009.
The trials will be held at White City B Arena on Sunday 13 July, kicking off at 9am.
Zifa Bulawayo Province chairman, Francis Ntuta urged clubs and schools to take up this opportunity and ensure players turn up for trials.
“Clubs and schools should not let this opportunity go as we would want Zimbabwe to have a strong team and even clinch the tourney as hosts,” he said.
Former Bulawayo Chiefs coach, Thulani Sibanda is the national under-17 team coach.
