Bulawayo Chiefs assume top spot

Bulawayo Chiefs moved to the top of the Southern Region Soccer League after Anesu Saiti’s 43rd-minute goal secured a hard fought victory against Blackrock FC at Chiefs Village this afternoon.

Saiti’s strike, off a Kim Joe Sibanda cross, was his second consecutive game with a goal. Chiefs and Nkayi are tied on 34 points.

Nkayi takes on Mainline tomorrow at 3pm at White City Stadium and will reclaim top spot if they avoid defeat.

Meanwhile, at the Colliery Stadium, Dominic Chungwa and an exciting Munashe Mutena’s goals were enough to seal a 2-0 victory for Chipangano against Imbizo.

Hwange maintained third position but also narrowed Nkayi’s lead to three points.

At White City Stadium, Zebra Revolution secured a 1-0 win over Bosso 90.

Zebra Revolution finally tasted victory, overcoming Highlanders’ developmental side thanks to Allan Tamburikayi’s decisive strike.
