Zimbabwe Senior Men’s rugby team, the Sables rugby made history by defeating Namibia 30-28 in the Rugby Africa Cup in Kampala, Uganda this afternoon.
The sensational win not only claimed the championship title but also secured Zimbabwe’s qualification for the Rugby World Cup for the first time in 34 years.
The Sables’ victory marked a milestone for Zimbabwean rugby, ending a long wait since their last World Cup appearance in 1991.
With the win, Zimbabwe will join the world’s top rugby nations at the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
