THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has landed heavily on troubled Dynamos and suspended coach Saul Chaminuka for two matches for his behaviour durin g the abandoned league match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium last month.
As Dynamos struggle in their quest to survive relegation, the censure effectively means Chaminuka will not sit in the dugout in Thursday’s match against Manica Diamonds at Rufaro Stadium and will miss Sunday’s clash against Chicken Inn at Barbourfields on Sunday.
Chaminuka was further fined US$4 000 for his misdemeanor while Dynamos were handed a $5 000 fine and doesn’t get any better for the Glamour Boys who have lost three points to FC Platinum on 3-0 scoreline leaving on 15 points from 21 games, sitting on position 17 on the log standings.
The PSL has released a statement condemning Dynamos and Chicken Inn for their called off matches with the GameCocks sanctioned for their abandonment of their tie against Scottland FC in May.
For Dynamos, the PSL said: “Dynamos FC were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum played at Mandava Stadium on June 22 2025. Consequently, the club has been fined a sum of US$5000 and the match was awarded to FC Platinum on a 3-0 scoreline. Furthermore, Dynamos FC head coach, Saul Chaminuka was also held responsible for his conduct during the match. He has been fined US$4000 and banned from occupying the technical bench for the club’s next two matches,” said PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare.
Chicken Inn also lost three points on a 3-0 scoreline to Scottland, were fined $5 000 while their player George Majika has been fined $1 000 for his involvement in the ill-fated match.
“The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has released judgements following disciplinary proceedings involving Chicken Inn FC and Dynamos FC in relation to the abandonment of their respective fixtures. Chicken Inn and their player, George Majika were found guilty following the abandonment of their match against Scottland played at Rufaro Stadium on May 23 2025. The club was fined US$5000, with the match awarded to Scottland FC on a 3-0 scoreline. Additionally, Majika was sanctioned for his role in the incident and fined US$1000,” Bare said.
Bare warned clubs on such wayward behaviour.
“The PSL reminds all clubs, players and officials of their obligation to uphold the league’s rules and regulations. Any actions that disrupt fixtures, undermine the integrity of the competition or bring the game into disrepute will not be tolerated,” She said.
Scottland, on position three with 37 points, has closed the gap to six points on leaders Simba Bhora and to three points on second-placed MWOS while FC Platinum has leapt to position four with 34 points with a hanging game against Manica Diamonds.
That game was postponed to allow FC Platinum to bury their late skipper Brian Banda who died in a traffic accident last month.
Meanwhile Chicken Inn’s match against Dynamos on Sunday has been moved from Luveve to Barbourfields.
