Premier Soccer League referee, Quedsani Dirwai is serving a six-match suspension following below par performance during the tie between FC Platinum and Dynamos.
The Zimbabwe Football Association confirmed his suspension saying he has not been officiating since Match Day 18 and will only be available for duty for Match Day 24.
Zifa said this in line with the Association’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of refereeing and fair play in the domestic game.
The suspension, which spans Matchdays 18 to 23 of the current PSL season, was imposed following the referee’s performance during the league fixture between FC Platinum and Dynamos, held at Mandava Stadium on 22 June 2025, read a statement from Zifa.
The match ended prematurely in the 75th minute when Dynamos protested the awarding of a penalty to FC Platinum and refused to continue with play.
“A review of the match, including the Match Commissioner’s report, concluded that Dirwai’s performance fell short of the expected professional standards required at the Premier League level.
“As a result, and in line with Paragraph 21 of the ZIFA Referees Code of Conduct, ZIFA imposed a six-match-day suspension as a corrective and disciplinary measure,” said Zifa in a statement.
ZIFA said they are committed to maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring that all match officials operate within the framework of professionalism, accountability, and consistency.
