ZIFA Bulawayo Province Crowns Serie A Youth Champions

By OnSport Reporter

The ZIFA Bulawayo Province crowned its Serie A youth champions yesterday, with trophies and medals presented across the city.

In the Under-13 category, Makokoba’s Real Stars were crowned champions. They had already secured the title on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Bulawayo City at the 11th Street ground in Makokoba. That result gave them an unassailable four-point lead over Chicken Inn with only one game remaining.

With the title already won, the coaches gave fringe players a chance in yesterday’s final match, which they lost 1-0 to Iminyela Timers in Lobengula Extension.

In the Under-15s, Talen Vision claimed the championship ahead of Bulawayo City, whose hopes were dashed by a 2-2 draw with Real Stars on Saturday.

Had Bulawayo City won that encounter, the final day would have been a thrilling climax. Instead, Talen Vision were confirmed champions and finished their season in style with a straightforward 2-0 victory over Njube.

In the Under-17s, Njube Spurs reigned supreme, capping their season with a 3-2 victory over Talen Vision at Desert Stadium in Njube. Having already secured the title, they finished the campaign in first place ahead of Makokoba’s Bulawayo Tigers, Highlanders, Chicken Inn, and Bulawayo City.

ZIFA Bulawayo Province chairman Francis Ntutha presented all the winning teams with their medals and trophies.
