Highlanders docked points

Highlanders’ Under-15 side has been docked a massive 27 points in the Bulawayo Juniors Serie A League for using an uncleared player, Rockey Muleya, since the beginning of the season.

The points docked have been awarded to teams they played in the concerned matches.

Bosso registered Muleya with their Under-15 side without seeking clearance from his club FMSA Umguza.

Muleya  played for Umguza last year.

Zifa Bulawayo Province chairman, Francis Ntuta said the Bulawayo Junior League said regulations state teams should seek a clearance from a player’s previous team before registration.

“Players can move to any new team without hindrance however we agreed that a team should have a clearance from the previous team,” he said.

According to the latest Under -15 log standings released on Tuesday, teams that were awarded the points forfeited from Highlanders on a 3-0 scoreline are FMSA Umguza, Young Flying Stars, Zebra Revolution, Alibaba Foundation, Chicken Inn, Bulawayo City, Cowdray Park, Riverplate and Tigers.

Following the awarding of points to other teams, Highlanders sits second last in the Under-15 league.

They are just two points above log anchors, Iminyela Timers.

Highlanders had their match against Iminyela called off at the weekend due to crowd trouble.

Iminyela have lost all their 12 games in the league save for the abandoned match which awaits a review by the province’ disciplinary committee.

In the under-13 log, Bosso is on position five with 23 points while on the under-17 log it sits seventh with 19 points.
