The annual Tanganda Half Marathon takes place this Sunday with hoards of athletes expected to take part in the run.
The race has become one of the premier half marathons in the country and National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe president, Tendai Tagara said they are pleased Tanganda Tea Company has once again come onboard  to fund the race pencilled for Mutare Sports Club.
Tagara said the Tanganda Half Marathon is a selection marathon for the World Half Marathon that will take place in the United States in September this and has high hopes one of the winners in Mutare will be one of those selected.

“We are happy that Tanganda Tea Company has taken it as part of their social responsibility to plough back as during their health week to organise this half marathon, which brings athletes of all over the country.
“We are looking forward to a big turnout this year  and we’ve challenged ourselves as an organization to make sure that technically the event is well run,” he said.
Last year, Moses Tarakinyu won the men’s 21km race clocking one hour two minutes and three seconds while Ethel Pangiso took gold in the women’s 21km race in one hour two minutes and three seconds.
