Namibian Premier League side Okahandja United have secured the services of Zimbabwean goalkeeper Arnold Chimombe on a one-year deal.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper arrives at the club from ZIFA Southern Region Soccer League club Imbizo FC, where he played a pivotal role in helping the army side secure their league status on the final day of the 2025 season.
While the contract is signed, Chimombe is currently unable to make his debut for his new club, as he is awaiting the processing of his international clearance from Zimbabwe.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Chimombe said that he hopes the move opens more opportunities for him. “I am feeling good, and it’s a major stepping stone to sign outside the country, especially for a premier league club. In Zimbabwe, football is hard; to be seen you must prove yourself by going outside and showing you can do it,” he said.
He added, “The team is currently number seven in the league, but I have not yet played. I am still waiting for the international clearance.”
Chimombe, who hails from Bulawayo’s Lobengula West suburb, is a product of the Young Flying Stars Sports Academy (YFSSA). His career path includes a stint with Pilikwe United in Botswana, followed by spells at Talen Vision and finally Imbizo, where his performances attracted cross-border attention.
